Rhyme Etching

If the poem's message comes out after all the rhymes are removed, it is called rhyme etching. An example of this is Secret Lake from Zustandsdichtung. It can, of course, be designed so that the meaning is only in the rhyming syllables and thus, the non-rhyming words are removed. Etching is traditionally the process of cutting into unprotected areas of a metal surface using acid or mordant to create an engraved design.
